Through its Service Leadership Programs, Kiwanis teaches young leaders new ways to change the world by serving one child and one community at a time.
Each year Kiwanis Club of Pahrump Valley holds various fundraisers from Yard sales to Comedy shows to raise funds to award 2-4 deserving individuals from applicants graduating from the Pahrump Valley High School. Students must not only fill out and application, and have completed a substantial amount of community service hours with keeping their grades up, but also participate in a face to face interview conducted by members of the Kiwanis club. During this interview the club gets a chance to ask about what school they will be attending, their major, their goals and if they plan on joining Circle K while in college. Planting the seeds that they will go on to be future Kiwanians. The scholarship is then paid to the school they will be attending after the club receives confirmation of tuition.
This year we are happy to announce with the help of the community fundraising efforts and a gracious donation from American First National Bank, we were able to grant four, $1000 scholarships. And to make matters better, all four were graduating Key Club Members.
